CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) is a system of paint integral to weapons
systems and may offer superior camouflage or other properties specific to
the end use requirement.
CARC paint used by Quantum Scientific
is purchased from registered suppliers on the U.S.
Government Qualified Product List (QPL).
Customers will often request a Certificate of Compliance from our paint manufacturer, which we keep on file with each batch of paint we obtain and use.
CARC coatings are on restricted availability by the U.S. Government. It is illegal to supply registered CARC coatings to any organization and/or group other than U.S. Government contracts or for Canadian Government contracts for use in Canada.
The CARC system consists of metal pretreatment such as alodine on aluminum or phosphate coating on steel, a primer coating and a topcoat.
The primer coatings are epoxy MIL-P-23377 or MIL-P-53022B.
The top coats are either epoxy MIL-C-22750, or urethane MIL-PRF-85285 or MIL-C-46168. Top coat colors are commonly 34094 flat green, 37038 flat black, 36231 flat grey, 17925 gloss white, 34088 olive drab green, and 33446 desert tan.
Powder coating is a good application for your cases, in which we offer 33446 desert tan, 37038 black, gloss white or various other colors as required. While these coatings provide a durable, heavy duty finish to your case application, they are not CARC or military approved coatings.
